New York: Day 4 (Saturday)
PAGE 2
What an AMAZING day today!
We were up early, and went on a backstage tour of the Gershwin Theatre (where Wicked is currently playing.) What a fascinating tour! We spent
nearly two hours learning what it takes to put on a major production, and had a chance to talk to the actors and learn what "life on Broadway"
is really like. The students had endless questions, and the tour ran over by at least a half an hour!
The forecast today was for rain, and it certainly did rain last night, but this morning there were just a few leftover sprinkles. By the time
we left for the Statue of Liberty, the sun was poking through. We also visited the Ground Zero site. They're now rebuilding there. I think a
lot of the students grasped the depth of the tragedy, even though most were only young children when it happened. It was good for them to see
and understand on a more personal level.
Tonight was thrilling! Our senior students went to see Wicked, and our younger students saw Blue Man Group. Two awesome shows! (And speaking
of shows...have you got your Beauty and the Beast tickets yet? :)
We're on our way home early in the morning. Best guess arrival time is approximately 9pm. See you soon!
P.S. Congratulations to all students for a GREAT trip! We're proud of each and every one of you.
