2008 Parades

Niagara Falls/London/Toronto: Day 2 (Saturday)

Hi Everyone,

What a day! Mother Nature decided to throw her very best (very worst!) at us and really put this band to the test. We had rain. We had snow. We had sleet. We had wind. And never in the history of this band have we been SO proud! Our students not only braved the elements, but they did so in style. They looked great, the formation lines were perfect, and the sound was AWESOME! With true grit and sheer determination to keep a positive attitude, the band performed flawlessly. Again, we are SO proud of them! The group did so well that before the end of the parade, we've received two other invitations already for next year!

By the end of the parade, students were absolutely exhausted (and soaked right through!) The task this morning is to get socks, shoes, gloves and uniforms dry (you can hear the hair dryers in every room right now!). The weather looks much better for the Toronto parade. Students are starting to filter down in their uniforms, already creating quite a buzz with the other hotel guests.

Uniforms will be dry, spirits remain high, and no doubt we already have cast memories for the students that will last many years to come. The students are learning what hard work and flawless determination can accomplish. The pride is all theirs, and parents, I hope yours too! Now off to play in the Toronto Santa Claus Parade!
